The hinged sections are semi-rigid to hold the round form when worn

coupled with the long claw settings give a distinctly gothic flavour to the ring

Victorian Essex Crystal Locket mid century 0cm (including bail) by 2A remarkable 19th century locket crafted in the high Victorian style. At its heart lies an Essex crystal monogram WM or MW the initials reverse carved into the base of a domed rock crystal cabochon and then painted. The back is an oval glass locket compartment and the sun ray border is set with gemstones of the sea coral and pearl. It's crafted in 18 carat and dates from the 1860s.
