Borana Container Bone beads symbolise Africa's culturalThis basket container has been hand woven by the Borana people of Ethiopia. The basket is crafted from finely woven reed and would an infusion of indigenous tree bark would be used to cover the inside of the container to make it watertight. Smaller baskets would be kept at home to store milk, larger baskets used to transport water and the more decorative baskets used on special occasions to serve guests or used as wall decoration.
