A beautiful early spring sunrise with rich and soft colors of orange appears on the horizon with giant reeds standing tall along the South Fork Kishwaukee River as I make my way to Wildflower Lake

I awakened to a heavy fog outside and was up and out the door before 5:00 am to photograph the wildflowers

The morning of February 1 I just happened to get lucky with that moment of perfect lighting at Wildflower Lake. The soft lighting illuminates this beautiful scene with the freshly fallen snow having a patterned effect on the lake, it also gave off a reddish hue to the crab apple tree. The puffy cumulus clouds above made this a perfect morning to photograph at
