A beaver cruises the South Fork Kishwaukee River during the early morning hours in Northern Illinois

I had been photographing the common loons for a few days and on this particular morning I was hoping one or two of the loons would come closer to the banks of the lake then they had the previous days

checking out a loon when I lifted my head up and noticed this loon swimming just off shore checking me out

I like photographing the landscape in black and white

Many cup plants can be seen throughout much of Wildflower Park during the summer months
