Wildflower Lake reflects a spectacular sunrise on this calm July morning in Northern Illinois

I came to a clearing with a few wildflowers in bloom and thought this would be a nice spot to set up the tripod and camera

A colorful sunrise is reflected onto a misty Wildflower Lake with a great blue heron waiting patiently at the shoreline for a meal and a light breeze which moves slowly over the surface of the lake leaving soft ripples in its wake

LAKE PATTERNS FOG Moving through the Forest PreservePatterns and textures on the lake. With the surface of Wildflower Lake beginning to freeze over and the sunlight glistening on the surface, patterns and textures are formed with pockets of water remaining for a few moments longer before eventually succumbing to the frigid evening temperatures.
