In 2022, our younger son died. I walked in the woods, picking up fallen natural materials and the remains of old farm fences and junk heaps, tangled in the underbrush. This piece speaks to the absurdity and beauty of life, a fragile nest enclosed in stark rusted metal and barbed wire.
