陳衍光是本地最活躍的爵士鼓手之一。他早年畢業於香港教育學院音樂系，師隨著名爵士鋼琴家Ted Lo，其後考取獎學金赴紐約The Collective School of Music深造，師從Peter Retzlaff、Ian Froman、Kendrick Scott等大師級鼓手。回港後，他經常與包以正、羅尚正、張駿豪等本地爵士大師同台，亦曾與Eric Marienthal、Laura Fygi等訪港國際級樂手合作演出及錄音。
