Acer palmatum 'Katsura' Candles fade to green during theAcer palmatum 'Katsura' is a slow growing, dwarf cultivar of Japanese Maple, reaching a maximum of 1. 4m x 1. 4m in time (less in a pot), with divided yellow orange leaves in spring, which turn to a fresh green in summer, then turning bright shades of yellow and orange before dropping in autumn. This plant loves a moist but well drained soil, in dappled or full shade in quite a wide range of soil types, preferring soils in the acid to neutral range.
