The surface is off white or cream with a fine, dark speckled pattern throughout the glaze. A prominent dark brown horizontal band wraps around the lower section of the dish's body. A thinner, matching dark line accents the outer rim of the lid. The lid is slightly domed and features an integrated, cylindrical hollow knob handle in the centre, which also has a
