I doubt it would work but

It was probably originally for some sort of salve or wax

There is a section on dresses and there is a separate dress pattern piece, it has patterns for many various styles, but good luck reading it. Decent condition with some wear and tear along the edges and some age discoloration. May ship slightly rolled.
