2015 Benedetti & Grigi Rosso di Montefalco DOC Rosé Look for fresh fruit aromasMontefalco Rosso is an incredibly rich, red blend unique to Umbria. Winemaker Matteo Basili crafted this full bodied red from 70% Sangiovese, 20% Sagrantino, and 10% Merlot fruit grown in the hillside vineyards around Montefalco. The fruit was hand picked and crushed at the cellar within two hours of harvest. Following temperature controlled maceration below 30C, the wine is finished for 12 months in French oak barrels and bottle aged an additional 6
