This would have been worn on the mortarmans belt in place of one of his ammo pouches much like a MG gunners pouch

I believe it still has some of its original contents but I did not want to pry on it too much to find out

The side with the poem is a light pink color and the side with the eagle is an off-white color

white and black (although the red has dulled and is a more pinkish hue and the white has darkened slightly over time)

It is an interesting book with a very different style of sketching from the usual cartoons of the era. Here are a little more crude in style. The book is in decent condition. The original jacket has some slight tearing and discoloration and is now wrapped in plastic.
