The colors and repairs of this one are in keeping with a great number of wartime items I have handled

These were found with alot of other items which were taken from a Wehrmacht supply depot by the locals after the Germans were pushed out. It was pretty common for people to take whatever they could and then end up having no real use for it so they would just save the stuff. Some of the handles have a slight split in the wood.
