These tubes allow the Cylinder Head bolts to pass through the Head, while blocking off the water passage gallery from leaking into the Cylinder Head Bolts and in some extreme cases leaking out of the head. After a recent experience, these are something i feel everyone should replace when having a 2H 12HT head serviced.
