I really couldn't believe how all of these ingredients came together perfectly when I caught this moment in western North Carolina

Wildflowers, Nantahala National Forest Great Smoky Mountains I enjoy playing with "everyday"The Nantahala National Forest in western North Carolina is one of my favorite natural destinations in the southeast. It's a rugged, sparsely populated part of our nation, punctuated with beautiful natural waterways. I caught this moment during an outing to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. I'm not usually one to paint flowers in my work, but the wildflowers really captivated me. I sort of felt like Dorothy among the poppies from the "Wizard of Oz."
