The sling loop is now held in place by an extension from the cross bolt rather than a small press fit permanent pin

It is in good condition and could still be used

but I would guess rabbit

It is also marked "Rostfrei" (rust free)

It is hard to pin down an accurate date; I did not notice any postwar markings, but I would err on the side of caution anyway and say early postwar. In fairly good condition.
