I have seen smaller ones and much larger ones. These were not used for phone wire but rather for detonation wire or for cables used to support things like antenna masts etc This one could be restored or left as is. there is a fair amount of chipped paint with rust. The markings are a bit hard to make out. it looks like its probably dated 1941.
