Sarracenia purpurea 'Belly of Blood' Shopify Collective Seed grown by Chris RawlingsIn 1999, seeds of Sarracenia purpurea subsp. venosa were successfully germinated at the University of California. After several years of cultivation, a particularly robust and visually striking clone was selected in 2005 and later registered as a distinct cultivar. This compact yet vigorous plant is especially notable for its dramatic pitcher colouration: the lower portion of the pitcher forms a deep, blood red 'belly', while the upright hood displays
